- Hi I was diagnosed Feb 2004 but had to quit drinking 4 a yr b4 I could treat. I had a biopsy (to me this is the golden standard to determine where my Hep C was at) the biopsy showed Grade 2 Stage 4 w/ fibrosis & cirrhosis. I started treatment for 24 wks w/ interferon/riba was UD at end of treatment but 1mth later relapsed. Waited for awhile than treated w/ pegasys/riba for 48 wks UD at wk 12 but again after 1 mth relapsed again. Would I do it again you bet I would! On my 1st tx I was able to work thru all of it on my 2nd tx I was retired so was able to deal w/ the minamal sides. I am now on maintenance peginteron 60mcg's a wk & have been for 1yr 5mths which I will continue until the new drugs with Protese Inhibitor's come out. My only sides were nauseau which I controlled with Zofran and fatigue. Thank You

the symptoms I had before being diagnose
- I felt a huge fatigue and as much as I had splept I didn't feel recovered; the fatigue was accompanied by a pain in the liver area; anytime I tried to find out what's wrong with me, ecografy didn't show any degree of liver failure and my family doctor recommended me to go and be investigated for viral hepatitis and further to this test they found out the presence of viral hepatitis C.
