Definition: HCV RNA stands for hepatitis C virus ribonucleic acid. RNA is the virus' genetic material.
However, in most cases, the term HCV RNA is referring to a test that identifies the presence of hepatitis C virus in your blood. The test is expensive (about $100 or so), but it can give very accurate results. Doctors use this test to confirm a current infection or monitor your treatment.
