Should You Be Concerned About Liver Cancer?
The most important risk factor is someone with chronic hepatitis B or hepatitis C infection. Unfortunately, these two chronic infections also lead to cirrhosis, which is another major risk factor for liver cancer: about 5 % of people with cirrhosis will develop liver cancer. The other risk factors are being male, having a family history of liver cancer and being over 60 years old. All of these increase the chances of developing this serious complication.
